Who is responsible

What this site collects
If you fill in one of the two forms, we receive what you type: your work email address, your organization, the size of your course catalog, and — from the form at the foot of the page — the system your courses live in and, if you add it, the subject area. Nothing else on the site asks you for anything. Our hosting provider records the usual technical data with every request, including your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser's user agent. This site sets no cookies and asks for no consent, because it needs neither.
Why, and on what legal basis
We use what you send to reply to you and to prepare a possible contract. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR. The technical data our host records serves the security and stability of the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running it safely, Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Giving us your details is voluntary. Without them we cannot answer you.
Where it is stored, and who else sees it
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. A form submission reaches us as an email, delivered by Resend, Inc. It is not copied into any other system: that email is the only record we keep of it. Both act as processors on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Where a processor handles data outside the EU, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Nobody else receives your details, and we neither sell them nor use them to advertise to you.
How long it is kept
We keep an enquiry for as long as we are dealing with it and for up to 24 months afterwards, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. After that it is deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out. Where the law requires us to retain something for longer, we retain it and nothing more.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and to see which parts of the page people use. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and builds no profile: a visit is turned into an anonymous value that cannot be traced back to you or followed across other sites. That is why this site has no cookie banner. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the page works, Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what we hold about you (Article 15), to have it corrected (Article 16) or erased (Article 17), to have its use restricted (Article 18), to receive it in a portable form (Article 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21). Write to the address above and we will act on it. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
